Totally understand. It was the same for my mother with the big house. It has been a rather awesomely hard and somewhat painful experience (even though my brother and sister-in-law handled the majority of it). I hope when your mother decides to move...it is a positive experience for all of those who need to be involved.

My mom won't give hers up since she and my father built it in 1966, although a 2 story, 4 bedroom home with a full basement is entirely to big for her to keep up with herself... cancer took him in 1975. Not looking forward to that day... I feel for ya!

Thanks, Lou - my physical grace during this past year, at times, has been lacking, but at least here, I can choose the path.

I admire the serenity (surreal though it may be) way that you have handled all of this. Your grace and graciousness have been inspiring. A beautiful good bye to another era, another chapter written in ink so fresh one is afraid to close the book. And you will continue to go to bed and continue to awaken and continue to continue. And it will be good.

I guess we all survive these things...it just isn't one of those overblown, over thought life moments, but most of us go through it. I do admit envy to those whose "homesteads" still remain in the family – not saying that I would want to keep mine...but it's just so strange. Thanks, Peggy!

It has been forty-three years since my childhood home was sold and I still remember each room and hallways very well. At the time, we were looking forward to a new bright future and I suppose it was.

I am thinking of you friend.
